One of my favorite photographs I have ever taken in my entire life, the glitter shoot has gotten a lot of attention. Of all of the creative shoots I’ve done, this one gets hands down the best response.
Jordan is a stellar model, that’s for sure, but what intrigues me is she is so much more than ‘just a model.’
Where do I start?
She plans out her shoots extremely well, and is a solid communicator. This may seem like obvious necessities; things that should be ‘par for the course,’ as far as models go, but it’s simply not. Especially in the North Carolina market, where flakiness and overall unreliability prevail, this is a major godsend.
Jordan breaks the mold at every turn, and for that I’m extremely grateful.
She does her own makeup, for instance. And not just your beauty styling – I’m talking about full-on creative makeup, head-to-toe, if need be. Several times while planning for a photoshoot, we’ll discuss a few lofty ideas, and before I know it, she’ll send me an image of the exact theme we were just discussing, perfectly executed.
For this shoot, the concept was “covered in glitter.” The pose? Mermaid. She nailed it. As a photographer, Jordan has been a real blessing to work with over the last year.
A lot of times, I take an active hand in crafting each element of the shoot; down to the model’s fingernail colors. Every once in a while, I’ll run into a model like Jordan whose expertise in planning affords me the ability to concentrate solely on the photography.
This was a shoot just like that.
